Hygiene

To prevent contamination of equipment, artists may refuse to paint any person that suffers from cold sores, conjunctivitis or any apparently infectious skin conditions.

Clientele

Although face painting is not recommended for children under 2 years, artists will use discretion when deciding whether to paint the child or not. If a child is reluctant to be painted, the artist may suggest painting a small motif on the child’s hand or arm. If the child still resists, the artist will decline to paint the child, regardless of the wishes of the parent. Artists reserve the right to refuse to paint any person behaving in an abusive, intoxicated or violent manner.

Removing face paint

Face paint is easily removed by gently massaging face cream, body lotion/baby lotion onto the painted areas, wiping off with wet wipes / tissue paper and then rinsing with water. Alternatively, soap and water may be used to remove paint – taking care to avoid eye area when using soap.
